My name is Brigitte and I am married to my best friend (Austin). We have three boys; Luca, Beniamino (Beni) and Massimiliano (Max).
Austin and I are born and bred New Zealanders but moved to London in 2002 and all of our boys were born there.
Within our first 2 years of being in London we purchased a property in Italy that we rent throughout the summer months.
At the end of March 2012 we moved our little family to our house in Italy for what was only going to be 3 months but ended up being 9 months! My husband had to stay back in London for work and could only visit us a few times over those 9 months, so I 'went it alone - solo mother style'. Hard going by the way!
During this time in Italy we were also searching for a property to rent in London that our family could happily live in (i.e. more than 2 bedrooms...).
A few days before Christmas 2012 we moved our family back to London and into a lovely 3 bedroom house situated by the river Thames. Being together as a family again is OH SO WONDERFUL.
Since I acquired the role of stay-at-home-mamma I have picked up crafts again that I haven't done in a long time - namely sewing, knitting and crochet. Very therapeutic they are! I am still working out the balance of fitting in time for 'creating' around mothering three very active boys... and I'm still trying to finding that balance!...
Running has always been a big part of my life, but has become even more so since being in the UK where I started running half-marathons. This was a great way to 'discover' the wonderful land of Great Britain we are living in and keeping myself fit and active for my very active
In 2010 I was training for my first ever marathon which was to be around LochNess in Inverness, Scotland, but 2 weeks out from this event I found out I was pregnant with baby number 3 and so decided not to run a marathon distance...!
BUT at the end of September 2013 my sister and I did run and complete the Lochness Marathon!
You can read about it here if you want to :)
