Weekend Treats

We awoke Saturday morning to -6 degrees C outside....so decided it was an 'inside' day.
Especially with the boys still coughing their lungs out. But we were all more than happy to stay put and do homely things at home. Which always involves food and lots of coffee.

Austin and Luca got out the pasta maker and rolled their own sheets for ravioli - spinach and cream cheese filled. Delicious!

Then Pap a e figlio in cucina whipped up a batch of chocolate cupcakes (Luca's request) only they forgot to put the cupcake cases in the bottom of the muffin tins so they successfully stuck to the bottom. But they still tasted good!

So it was my turn and I came up with Lemon and Orange cupcakes. Light, moist, sweet and tangy all at once.

I have boxes arriving today so I'm sure their presence will motivate me to start thinking about packing... what to take to Italy and what goes into storage? Such a dilemma. I'm sure my brain will be enough stretched with this task for the next wee while.

I've nearly finished a couple of crochet projects so I hope to share them with you in the next couple of days!

  1. we made pasta last night again. I really suck at it. My pasta roller was out fishing so I was having a go. Eventually some delicious chorizo, spinich and ricotta raviolis...only took 2 hours!

  2. YUM. YUM. YUM.

And Luca's eyes in the photo - totally like that beautiful one of him when he was a chubba bubba. Beautiful blue-eyed Bokser boys.

  3. Yum yum yum!!!!!! Can't wait to taste the wonderful home-made pasta concoctions when we come xxxxx!

  4. Homemade pasta sounds delish! I would love to use dairy in my cooking, but poor Zayn has a ridiculous amount of food allergies & since I still nurse him a wee bit, I have to avoid lots of those foods too! It's 10:52pm and I want a cupcake. None in sight! I'm picking up boxes this week from where I used to work (I like free boxes), but I noticed that I like your boxes better! xx

I love hearing from you! Please leave a comment X
