Biking Adventures

Oh sorry it took so long to get rid of those 1D boys from here...
I've been sick.
And unmotivated to do much writing or photo sharing.
But that doesn't mean nothing of interest has been happening here - quite the opposite in fact.
LOTS has been happening, life is busy, but good.

A wee something that has TOTALLY changed my world is the purchase of a bike trailer and bike for getting the boys around town and for adventures to the park or playgrounds.

A couple of weekends ago we had the May Day holiday here in the UK - always the first weekend and Monday of May. And as luck would have it the weather was turning on it's charms for us. So lovely and warm with blue blue skies.

So on the Monday of the loooong weekend we scheduled in a bike ride and picnic with our best friends in Richmond Park.
So awesome.
So relaxing.
So fun.

And dear little Luca did AWESOME on his bike - he was so tired by the time we got to the park but after he refuelled, ran up and down a couple of hills and played in the playground he was back on his bike again for the ride home.
I'm so proud of him. His a naturally strong wee lad. Love him.
And he's so proud of his cycling gloves that papa got for him. He's a serious cyclist don'cha know!

I tell you what, I'm going to have thighs (and hopefully buns) of STEEL in no time lugging those chunky monkeys around in the trailer behind the bike. Definitely feel that familiar burn in the muscles that's for sure. Good. Like this a lot. Especially with bikini weather coming up.

Speaking of the familiar muscular 'burn' have I told you I've booked in for the Lochness Marathon at the end of September? Yeah it's the one I was supposed to run and was training for 2 years ago and then found out I was pregnant with Max 2 weeks out from the race date...

But this time I'm running it with my sister (WHOOP!) and there is no chance of a surprise pregnancy happening this time. We've seen to that...

Anyhoo, I've got a pile of dishes to do and curtains and cushions to sew and dinner to make.
Oh yeah and children to look after. One of them has currently got his hand down the back of his undies so I better deal with that. *sigh* This is the story of my life with boys...

Hope you're all having a great week!

  2. Ahhhhh, just spotted your photo! I moved back to NZ 5 years ago from London. We lived in Teddington and I worked in Richmond. That street just looks so familiar. :)

  3. That first image is just precious!! So cute!
I've had a bike for a few years and just don't ride it! I have forgotten how to! I should re-learn cause we have a rail trail just near our house that would be ideal to ride on!
    Maybe this weekend......have a lovely weekend! x
