Mid-Week recap: life captured on the phone camera

Life goes by so fast nowadays. The best we can do is capture little pockets of it here and there - as often as possible - lest we forget all the good, simple, fun and spontaneous times.

Austin and I have been quite good lately at remembering to whip out our phones to record little moments in our days, when getting out the 'big' camera seems too much of a fuss.

Luca TJ has also been having a bit of fun with Papa's phone...

One of the favourite games to play with Aunty T is 'Ambulances'.
It goes like this: 1-2 casualties lie on the ground in a critical condition (most commonly that includes arms wide, tongue out). Ambulance T comes rushing into the room, sirens blazing (sound effects usually provided by Beni) and assesses the situation which always calls for chest compressions and (if they are not responding/'alive' by compression number 15 then an oxygen mask is used. This usually does the trick.

Austin is on holiday for 3 weeks so has been enjoying having the time to bake bread again. Today was a country-style loaf. Oh yeaaaaaahhh.

When I run with the buggy I have these two little blue eyes staring up at me when he's not sleeping. Dear wee guy.

Luca's favourite pastime is car-spotting when we are on the bus.
He's pretty darn good at it too.
"Audi car, Mini car, Vauxhall, Porsche car, BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Taxi, Mercedes van, Citroen, Cool car, Fast car..."

Austin introducing Max to the finer things in life... (don't worry, he was just gumming the bottle but it was a funny moment I just had to capture)

And then there's the sunsets and/or rainbows.
Always stunning.

It's not a perfect life.
But it's our life.
And it's a good life.

Happy Hump Day y'all! X

More Summer Lovin'

I've got so many photos and stories to share from what we've been up to over the past few weeks but my blogging and has been very sparse, so the stories and photos I want to share just keep piling up and piling up. So now I have to filter them down into manageable quantities, so as not to overload y'all.

Anyway I've got a bundle of photos taken from Austin's phone that sum up our adventures nicely - things we've been doing and loving over the past little while.

Playing in the fountains on Southbank, River Thames...

Going to the Pirate Ship Playground... only to be rained-out so next best option = the pub (of course!)

Aunties doing what Aunties do best... cuddling their nephews and drinking coffee.

"When ya gotta go, you gotta go" (Quote: Annie, 1982)...

Blackberry picking...

Big adventures with Papa... even when you've forgotten to put your shorts on, but at least you've remembered to wear your shades.

Chasing the pigeons...

Throwing stones at the ducks...

Being friendly to the locals...

Making banana cake...

Making bread... that would be Austin my Amazing Husband, not me. He has become quite the Bread-Making King!

Stolen Free Apples from off the side of the road... does it matter that Austin raided the tree in the middle of the night? Nooooooo... *ahem*

Bubbles...

Smiles...

Cuddles...

Sunsets...

London in the Summertime, oh how we love thee.

While the sun still shines

Summer is the time when one sheds one's tensions with one's clothes,
and the right kind of day is jeweled balm for the battered spirit.
A few of those days and you can become drunk with the belief that all's right with the world.
~Ada Louise Huxtable

We have been busy grabbing as many days of sunshine as we can before the seasons turn over once again and we head into autumn. Grabbing the days and making the most of them.

When Granny & Pop were here they got the boys a 'sports car' inflatable pool from a car-boot sale. Although it took me about an hour to inflate it was definitely worth the effort with all the splishing and splashing fun that was had in it.

And it's so very exciting that 'Aunty T' has escaped the snow in New Zealand to enjoy the last of the summer sun with us.

Although we were supposed to be on a 3 week holiday in Italy right about now (but we won't talk about that. I'm still getting over this) we are 'making do' with the summer sun that good ol' London is providing.

Luca's first experience of 'grass rash'.

The things you see... {Hyde Park, London}

Most weekends over the past few weeks have been presenting us with picnic opportunities.
It also presents opportunities for our boys to 'get to know' some friendly locals, share their crisps and grapes with them and feel so at ease with their new-found friends that they have a bit of a lie down with them...

Summer Loving. It's all good. And has certainly got me believing that all is right with the world.
